Ranked Season 2 started on June 14 with a new reward set and a new queue format. The old Low Stakes and High Stakes split is gone. Ranked now uses one queue with a 5000 loadout minimum, so every death still costs real vault value on top of RP.
Gear Ante: Minimum Requirements for Entry
Gear ante is the minimum credit value your equipped loadout must reach before the game lets you queue. It exists so every Runner in the lobby has real gear on the line – no Sponsored Kits, no naked knife runs.
In Season 2, Bungie merged the old Low Stakes and High Stakes queues into one Ranked queue with a 5000 credit loadout minimum. That is roughly a solid Deluxe-heavy setup with some Superior pieces mixed in. Whatever you bring in, you risk losing. Die and all of it is gone.
Season 2 also adds daily Ranked Sponsored Kits that scale with your current rank, which helps replace kit losses during a long climb. The queue rule itself still starts at 5000 equipped value every time you deploy.

Additional Options
- Priority: Moves your Marathon Ranked Boost to the front of our order queue. Your boost starts faster than standard scheduling, beginning as soon as a Runner becomes available. Useful if you want your climb started during a specific weekend rotation.
- Stream: We provide a link to a private stream so you can watch your Marathon Ranked Boost progress live. See Ranked gameplay in real-time without screen sharing or installing anything. Good if you want to see how Ranked lobbies play out and how your climb is progressing.
- Rank Selection: Choose your current rank and desired rank, including subdivision (Bronze III, Gold I, Diamond II, etc.). Pricing scales based on the gap between where you are and where you want to be. Be specific about subdivisions – they matter.
- My Vault Doesn't Meet Requirements: We run loot-focused sessions and push your faction standings until your vault has enough depth and loadout value for Ranked. Think of it as a prep package: your account gets Ranked-ready, then the actual climb starts.
Piloted
Our Runner logs into your account and pushes from your current division to your chosen target. Every Ranked session is played on your account – all reward packages, extracted loot, weapons, credits, and cosmetics unlocked during the climb stay permanently. Your vault gets restocked between sessions so gear ante is never an issue mid-climb. Please provide your login credentials in the order chat after purchase.
Marathon Rank Boost Service
Ranked Mode in Marathon
Ranked is Marathon competitive extraction mode. You climb by extracting loot worth enough credits to hit a score target each run. You deploy into a zone with your crew, find high-value items on the map or loot them from other players, and exfil before the timer runs out or another crew kills you.
Before queuing, you need two things: a loadout that meets the Season 2 loadout minimum and a Holotag purchased from the Armory. The Holotag sets your score target for that run. Once you are in the zone, only loot you pick up during the run counts – gear you brought from your vault is excluded from scoring.
Ranked runs on a weekly schedule during the live season. Each active period features a different planet-side zone. Season 2 Ranked returned on June 14, 2026 with new rules and a full new reward set. Numbers for Holotag scoring are taken directly from Bungie's Ranked article.
How Marathon Ranked Boost Works
- Pick your rank range – Select your current rank and desired rank, including subdivision (e.g. Bronze II to Gold I or Silver III to Pinnacle I).
- Share account details – Provide login credentials through order chat after purchase.
- Your Runner starts climbing – Our boosters deploys into active weekend zone with loadouts meeting the 5000 queue floor and a Holotag matching the current rank. Sessions run until your target rank is reached.
- You get everything earned – Your target rank is reached, along with all cosmetic rewards from milestones hit along the way. That includes weapon skins, titles, emblems, the Arista Atrax Thief skin at Gold I, rank-up loot packages, and any weapons, credits, or faction rep gained during the sessions.
Scoring System in Ranked
Your crew's score target is the sum of all Holotag values carried by your crew members. During the run, you collect loot and its credit value counts toward that target.
- If your crew hits or exceeds the target and exfils, you gain Ranked Points (RP) and your rank moves forward.
- Exfil below the target and nothing changes – no RP gained, no RP lost. You keep whatever loot you extracted, but your rank stays where it was.
- Die and the consequences are steep: you lose RP equal to your crew's combined Holotag loss penalty, and your entire loadout is gone – weapons, mods, consumables, everything you brought in.
Killing other Runners also plays into scoring. Their Holotags are lootable, and stolen Holotags give your crew overperformance capacity – the ability to earn bonus RP past your base score target.
That is why PvP in Ranked is more aggressive than on normal maps. Every Runner you encounter is carrying a Holotag worth real scoring value, and they know you are too.
Marathon Holotags Explained
Holotags are mandatory items you buy from the Armory before each Ranked run. Every Runner in your crew carries one. In Season 1 you could buy any Holotag up to your rank tier. In Season 2, the Holotag you bring must match your current rank tier before you can queue.
Each Holotag has four values tied to it:
- Cost – credits you pay at the Armory
- Score target – loot value your crew needs to exfil with for RP
- Loss penalty – RP you lose if you die
- Overperformance capacity – how much bonus RP you can earn past the base target
Here are the exact numbers from Bungie for each tier:
- Bronze – 500 credits, 3000 target, 600 loss, 600 overperformance
- Silver – 750 credits, 5000 target, 2000 loss, 1000 overperformance
- Gold – 1000 credits, 7000 target, 4200 loss, 1500 overperformance
- Platinum – 1500 credits, 10000 target, 8000 loss, 2250 overperformance
- Diamond – 2000 credits, 15000 target, 15000 loss, 3250 overperformance
- Pinnacle – 3500 credits, 20000 target, 20000 loss, 5000 overperformance
Holotags persist after a successful exfil. You can reuse them next run or sell them for full value. Stolen Holotags from enemy Runners you killed work the same way – keep them, sell them, or use them in a future run.
What Is Overperformance in Marathon Ranked?
Normally, once your crew hits the score target set by your combined Holotags, any extra loot stops counting. Overperformance capacity raises that ceiling. It lets additional loot value past the target convert into bonus RP on top of the base gain.
You start every run with zero overperformance capacity. There are two ways to build it mid-run:
- looting a Holotag from an enemy Runner you killed
- each stolen Holotag adds its tier's overperformance value to your crew's pool
- or collecting Tag Chips, which drop from UESC kills and map events:
- Tag Chip – 250 value, 400 overperformance, stacks to 5
- Polished Tag Chip – 700 value, 1000 overperformance, stacks to 3
A crew that kills a Runner carrying a Gold Holotag and exfils with it gains 1500 extra overperformance capacity on top of whatever they already had.
That lets them push well past their base target and earn significantly more RP than a crew that just looted containers and left. In Season 2, exfiling with a Tag Chip also grants Arachne reputation.
All Ranks in Marathon: Divisions and Tiers
The rank ladder has six tiers:
- Bronze
- Silver
- Gold
- Platinum
- Diamond
- Pinnacle
Each tier has three subdivisions – III, II, and I, where I is the highest.
Everyone starts at the bottom and climbs by accumulating RP. In Season 2, all ranks queue into the same matchmaking pool with the same 5000 loadout requirement and a Holotag that matches current rank. Solos, duos, and full crews still face each other in that pool.
Bungie also made Season 2 progression faster overall, and RP gains or losses now scale more against the average rank of the lobby you are playing in.
What Changed in Season 2 Ranked
Season 1 split Ranked into Low Stakes (3000 gear ante, Bronze Holotag minimum) and High Stakes (10000 gear ante, Platinum unlock). That split is gone.
Season 2 uses one queue with these live rules:
- 5000 loadout value minimum for every rank
- Holotag matching your current rank before each run
- Faster progression across the ladder
- Lobby-based RP scaling – gains and losses depend more on who you are playing against
- Daily Ranked Sponsored Kits that scale with rank
- Tag Chip exfils granting Arachne reputation
The loss penalties at Diamond and Pinnacle tier Holotags are still 15000 and 20000 respectively, so one bad run at those ranks can erase multiple good sessions.
Rewards for Ranked Mode
Rewards are based on the highest rank you reach during the season, even if you drop back down afterward. Your peak rank is what counts for end-of-season cosmetics.
Each time you reach a new rank for the first time, you unlock a reward package with gear and room keys. Some cosmetics unlock immediately at rank-up, others are granted based on peak rank at season end. Bungie confirmed a full new Season 2 reward set but has not published one clean table with every cosmetic name in a single article.
Confirmed Season 2 ranked rewards:
- Silver – Skullbuster profile background
- Gold I – Arista Atrax, a Deluxe Thief runner skin
- Gold – Gilded Survivor title
- Platinum – Atrax Sting, a Deluxe weapon style for V11 Punch
- Diamond – Pale Death, a Superior weapon style for V00 Zeus RG
- Pinnacle – Dusk Eliminator, a Superior weapon style for Outland
- Pinnacle – Ascendant Survivor title
Ranked Codex also tracks titles, emblems, and additional cosmetics. Season 2 reuses the Bronze Runner through Pinnacle Runner emblem names on a new seasonal track, but you only receive the emblem tied to your highest rank reached – not one emblem for every tier you pass.
These are exclusive seasonal rewards. Once Season 2 ends, the Arista Atrax, Atrax Sting, Pale Death, and Dusk Eliminator skins cannot be earned again in that season's window.
FAQ
When does Marathon Ranked start in Season 2?
Season 2 began on June 2, 2026, and Ranked returned on June 14. After that, Ranked opens on the live weekly schedule while the season is active. If Ranked is closed when you order, we schedule the climb for the next active period.
What level do you need for Marathon Ranked?
Runner Level 25. You also need a loadout that meets the 5000 credit Season 2 minimum and a Holotag matching your current rank before every run. If your account is not at 25 yet, level up first – entering Ranked with a thin vault means losing gear you cannot easily replace.
What is gear ante in Marathon Ranked?
Gear ante is the minimum credit value your equipped gear must reach before you can queue. For Season 2 Ranked, that threshold is 5000 credits in the unified queue. If your loadout does not clear it, the game blocks you from queuing.
Do you lose gear in Marathon Ranked?
Every failed exfil costs you everything you brought in – weapons, mods, consumables, your entire loadout. On top of that, you lose RP based on your crew's combined Holotag loss penalty. At higher tiers, the loss penalties are steep: a Diamond Holotag has a 15000 loss penalty, and Pinnacle is 20000. A single bad run at high ranks can erase multiple good runs worth of progress.
Can I get Arista Atrax, Pale Death, and Dusk Eliminator after Season 2 ends?
Arista Atrax (Thief shell, Gold I), Atrax Sting (V11 Punch, Platinum), Pale Death (V00 Zeus RG, Diamond), and Dusk Eliminator (Outland, Pinnacle) are exclusive Season 2 Ranked rewards. Bungie describes them as exclusive seasonal cosmetics, which means they can only be earned during Season 2 by reaching the required rank. Once earned they stay on your account permanently, but you cannot unlock them later if you miss the window.
What happens if your crew misses the score target?
If you exfil below the score target, your rank does not move – no gain, no loss. You keep the loot you extracted, but the run gave you zero RP. If you fail to exfil entirely (die), you lose RP equal to your crew's combined loss penalty and lose all gear you brought in. Both outcomes burn Holotag investment and vault resources.
Does Ranked progress reset between seasons?
Ranked ladder progress resets at the start of each new season. What Bungie has confirmed is that rewards are based on the highest rank you reach during the season, even if your standing drops later. Some cosmetics unlock immediately at rank-up, others are granted based on peak rank. Ranked titles remain usable for one extra season after you earn them.
Can you play Marathon Ranked solo?
Ranked matches all crew sizes together – solos, duos, and full crews queue into the same pool. You can play solo, but your score target is still based on your Holotag value and you will face coordinated crews. Playing without teammates means less map coverage, less PvP backup, and a higher chance of dying to a full crew before reaching your score target.
How long does Marathon Ranked Boost take?
Timing depends on the rank range, weekly zone rotation, and lobby conditions. Ranked only runs during live seasonal windows, so climbs that span multiple tiers may take more than one weekend. Ranked timing is less predictable than farming because every run has score-target pressure and PvP.
What is overperformance in Marathon Ranked?
Overperformance is bonus RP you earn by scoring past your crew's target. Normally, once you hit the score target set by your combined Holotags, extra loot stops counting. Overperformance capacity raises that ceiling and lets additional loot value convert into extra RP.
