What Are Thief Mastery Skins in Marathon?

Thief is one of seven Runner shells, built around Grapple Device (tactical) and Pickpocket Drone (prime). Like every shell, it has two Codex sections:

• Orientation – 20 exfils, 50 Grapple uses, 25 Pickpocket Drone uses. Rewards: Finders Takers emblem, Pickpocket Drone background.
• Mastery – Five challenges (grapple through glass, critical-health grapple escape, steal from 3 Runners in one use, steal Self-Revive from downed Runner, hack priority hostile). All five → Shadow Index shell style.

In-game these are "styles"; we use "skins" for search. Progress is permanent.

1. Shattered Hopes – Defeat a Runner after grappling through glass.
2. Escape Artist – Grapple at critical health to escape and heal.
3. Accomplished Pickpocket – Steal from 3 different Runners in one Pickpocket Drone use.
4. Life Taker – Steal Self-Revive from a downed Runner with Pickpocket Drone.
5. No Target Too Great – Hack a priority hostile.

Completing all five triggers the meta challenge MASTER THIEF and awards Shadow Index mastery shell style permanently.

Orientation Challenges

• Thief Exfil (0/20) – Exfiltrate 20 times using Thief shell.
• Tactical Thief (0/50) – Use Grapple Device 50 times across all runs.
• Prime Thief (0/25) – Use Pickpocket Drone 25 times across all runs.

Orientation rewards: Finders Takers emblem and Pickpocket Drone background.

How to Unlock Thief Mastery Skin

• Shattered Hopes – Grapple through breakable glass, then kill. Map knowledge for glass locations.
• Escape Artist – Grapple at critical health to escape and heal. Timing and escape route.
• Accomplished Pickpocket – Steal from 3 different Runners in one Pickpocket Drone use. Lobby has to give you three targets in range.
• Life Taker – Steal Self-Revive from a downed Runner with Pickpocket Drone. You either need a solo enemy with Self-Revive left or to play in a squad where someone can down a Runner and let you finish the steal.
• No Target Too Great – Hack a priority hostile. Spawn and opportunity.
