What Are Destroyer Mastery Skins in Marathon?

Destroyer is one of seven Runner shells, built around Riot Barricade (tactical) and Search and Destroy (prime). Like every shell, it has two Codex sections:

• Orientation – 20 exfils, 50 Riot Barricade uses, 25 Search and Destroy uses. Rewards: Full Force emblem, Search and Destroy background.
• Mastery – Five PvP challenges (smoke, Tactical Sprint, Thruster + shotgun, Riot Barricade exfil, glass break). All five → Shadow Index shell style.

In-game these are "styles"; we use "skins" for search. Progress is permanent.

All 5 Destroyer Mastery Challenges

1. Where There's Smoke... – Defeat a Runner hiding in smoke while Search and Destroy is active.
2. Rundown – Defeat a Runner shortly after using Tactical Sprint.
3. Close the Gap – Defeat a Runner with a shotgun shortly after using Thruster.
4. Escape Under Aegis – Block damage with Riot Barricade right before successfully exfiltrating.
5. Oh Yeah – Defeat a Runner after using Tactical Sprint to break through a glass window.

Completing all five triggers the meta challenge SUPERSOLDIER and awards Shadow Index mastery shell style permanently.

Orientation Challenges

• Destroyer Exfil (0/20) – Exfiltrate 20 times using Destroyer shell.
• Tactical Destroyer (0/50) – Use Riot Barricade 50 times across all runs.
• Prime Destroyer (0/25) – Use Search and Destroy 25 times across all runs.

Orientation rewards: Full Force emblem and Search and Destroy background.

How to Unlock Destroyer Mastery Skin

• Where There's Smoke... – Find or create smoke, pop Search and Destroy, get the kill before they leave smoke.
• Rundown / Oh Yeah – Tactical Sprint timing: one challenge is kill shortly after Sprint; the other is Sprint through breakable glass then kill. Map knowledge for glass locations matters.
• Close the Gap – Thruster in, then shotgun. Tight window.
• Escape Under Aegis – Block damage with Riot Barricade in the exfil zone right before the ship leaves. One mistimed use and you redo – this card often takes the longest even when the rest of the page is done.
