Is Prismatic powerful enough?

Yes, it is! Prismatic allows you to combine damage abilities with clear abilities. Use Hunter’s Golden Gun with a Strand Grapple. Or Titan’s Thundercrash with a void Shield Throw.

Is Prismatic better than Stasis or Strand?

Yes, it is. Stasis can only control waves of enemies. Long story short, Strand does the same. But with Prismatic you can add some damage by using Light abilities. Or enhance your crown control by adding other melee attacks or grenades.
