The Worgen are folks from Gilneas who were cursed by ancient druid magic, turning them into part-wolf, part-human creatures. Despite the curse, they've kept their minds and joined the Alliance to fight the Forsaken. They live in Gilneas City, but some have relocated to The Howling Oak in Darnassus.

After the Cataclysm, the Greymane Wall fell apart, letting the Forsaken easily attack Gilneas. The Bloodfang Pack defended the city's northern areas against them. Inside, Hiram Creed, disguised as a black Drakonid, formed the Blackhowl pack, blending Worgen and humans with his dragon blood.

As the Gilneas Liberation Front and Bloodfang Pack fought the Forsaken, many non-worgen citizens fled to Darnassus for safety. The Night Elves, feeling responsible for the curse, welcomed them and provided shelter while the war continued. Eventually, Gilneas rejoined the Alliance.

Worgen start their journey in Gilneas, their capital city, where they encounter civil war and a curse.

Worgens, as well as the rest of playable races, have their own race mounts: Unarmored ponies. An interesting and unique feature all Worgens share - they can run as fast as a mount with Running Wild ability.

Racials:

• Aberration - It reduces shadow and nature damage by 1%.
• Altered Form - It allows Worgens to switch between human and Worgan forms.
• Darkflight - This activates your true form, which increases your current movement speed by an additional 40% for 10 seconds.
• Flayer - It'll boost your skinning skill by 5% and deftness by 25%. Deftness lets you skin more quickly.
• Running Wild - Get down on all fours and run as fast as a wild animal.
• Two Forms - Turn into your currently inactive form.
• Viciousness - It increases critical strike chance by 1%.
