The original Tempest Keep attunement culminates in obtaining The Tempest Key, an item that granted access to The Eye, the raid instance housing Kael'thas Sunstrider.

The journey begins in Shadowmoon Valley, where players start the quest chain that eventually leads to A'dal and the Naaru of Shattrath City. Unlike many simpler attunements, Tempest Keep requires proving yourself through a series of major progression milestones known as the Trials of the Naaru.

This quest requires defeating Magtheridon himself, one of the major raid bosses of early TBC. Only after proving your strength in both Heroic dungeons and raid content can you receive The Tempest Key.

At the time, this attunement served as Blizzard's way of ensuring that players entering Tier 5 raids had already experienced much of The Burning Crusade's endgame progression. Completing Tempest Keep attunement was considered a major achievement and often represented weeks of effort for many guilds.

Today, it remains one of the most recognizable attunement chains in World of Warcraft history and an important milestone for players exploring classic TBC progression.
