Phantom Weapons are Dawntrail's level 100 relic line: long-form progression for a single job that starts with a Penumbrae weapon at item level 745 and upgrades to Umbrae at item level 760, each weapon locked to the job that accepted the quest. The chain sits behind Dawntrail completion and the Unfamiliar Territory unlock, then runs through Occult Crescent and Phantom Village as you pick up relic quests and open the weapon forge.

Progress is built around open-world Dawntrail content and duty roulettes rather than instanced raids. Early steps ask for stacks of demiatma from specific critical FATEs across Dawntrail zones, which are then traded in at Phantom Village together with Arcanite bought for Allagan tomestones of Heliometry; later stages add the Aetherwell Array, where you fill four aether bars through daily duty roulettes such as high-level dungeons, alliance raids, normal raids and trials before finishing with another tomestone purchase and handing in your previous weapon. The result is a time-heavy grind gated by FATE uptime, drop rates and daily roulette bonuses rather than difficulty.
