ARC Raiders Firefly and Comet Guide: Locations and Loot

This guide breaks down Firefly and Comet in ARC Raiders, where to find them, how to kill them efficiently, and how to secure the materials that actually matter.

Both enemies were introduced in the Shrouded Sky update and are tied to key crafting paths. If you are progressing Weather Monitor System, you will specifically need Comet Igniters, which only drop under the right conditions.

If you are looking for a full overview of every ARC enemy type, use our complete ARC enemies guide. This page focuses strictly on Firefly and Comet optimization.

Firefly Guide

Think of Firefly as a Hornet on steroids. You farm it for ARC Performance Steel, ARC Coolant, ARC Thermo Lining, and Firefly Burner. Firefly Burner is needed for Trailblazer Grenades.

ARC Raiders FireflyFirefly

Notable loot

  • ARC Performance Steel
  • Simple Gun Parts
  • ARC Coolant
  • ARC Thermo Lining
  • Firefly Burner

Where To Find

Firefly can spawn anywhere normal flying ARC enemies spawn.

Most Consistent: open high-altitude areas with active flying ARC.

Second Most Consistent: zones with frequent Snitch alerts that pull Hornet/Wasp activity.

Optional places to check:

ARC Raiders Spaceport Hidden Bunker Location

Spaceport - Hidden Bunker: common Hornet/Wasp farm area, so Firefly can appear here in bulk.

ARC Raiders Buried City Hospital Location

Buried City - Hospital area: common Hornet/Wasp farm area, so Firefly can appear here in bulk.

How To Farm And Kill

Keep distance and focus weak points. If Firefly gets close, its flamethrower hurts badly, and it often is not alone.

Firefly goes down when two out of four turbines are broken.

Best weapons:

  • Anvil or Pharaoh: most consistent simple picks.
  • Any high-burst weapon works well.

Reliable method:

  1. You need to break two turbines to drop Firefly, so focus on turbines first.
  2. Turbines are armored, so keep focused fire until each one breaks.
  3. If turbines are hard to track, break the small V-shaped black plate above the eyes and keep shooting that same area.

Do not

Let Firefly get close to you and burn you with its flamethrower.

Comet Guide

Comet is a fast rolling bomb ARC that explodes hard at close range. You farm it for Crude Explosives, ARC Coolant, ARC Thermo Lining, and Comet Igniter.

If you are reading this, you probably already killed Comets and got no Comet Igniter. Why? We explain that below, do not worry.

Notable loot

  • Crude Explosives
  • ARC Coolant
  • ARC Thermo Lining
  • Comet Igniter

Where To Find

Comet is a rare spawn unless you know the right spots.

ARC Raiders Stella Montis Loading Bay

Most Consistent: Stella Montis - Loading Bay Floor. This spot often has 1-3 Comets.

ARC Raiders Hurricane

Second Most Consistent: Hurricane weather conditions, especially Dam Battlegrounds and Spaceport.

Optional places to check:

  • Bluegate: Head House, Warehouse Complex, Warehouse Air Shaft.
  • Buried City: near Raider Hatch and Subway exits.

How To Farm And Get Igniter

First make sure Comet does not roll into your face and explode. If there is high ground nearby, take it and start shooting from distance.

Comet Igniter drops ONLY when Comet dies BEFORE self-detonation.

Best weapons:

  • Hullcracker: fastest consistent kills (usually 1-3 good hits).
  • Anvil: consistent but slower (usually 4-6 hits).
  • Wolfpack for fast delete, or Showstopper to stun and finish safely.

Reliable method:

  1. Take a safe elevated spot if possible.
  2. Start damage early, before Comet closes distance.
  3. If the core opens during charge, shoot there to finish Comet fast.
  4. Loot both wreckage parts right away. Check the round core piece first for Comet Igniter.

Do not

Let Comet get close enough to self-detonate.

Fastest Way To Get Materials

You can spend an hour running Hurricane routes without seeing a single Comet. Then when one finally spawns, it rolls straight into your face and self-detonates before you can crack it open for the Igniter.

Firefly farming is not much different. You clear flying ARC packs, break turbines cleanly, manage distance perfectly, and still end up short on the ARC Performance Steel or Firefly Burners you actually need.

If you need materials now, not after another long farming session, the fastest option is to skip the grind.

With our ARC Raiders Crafting Materials Boost, you get the exact materials you need in bulk, without depending on rare spawns or risky close-range kills. If you need guaranteed Comet Igniters for Weather Monitor System or enough Firefly Burners to craft Trailblazer Grenades, we farm efficiently and deliver the quantities required so you can move straight into crafting and progression. You can also combine material farming with other ARC Raiders Boosting Services to streamline multiple goals at once instead of splitting your time across separate runs.

FAQ

Comet Igniter only drops if you kill Comet before it self-detonates. If Comet explodes on its own, you will not receive the Igniter. Secure early damage and finish it before it reaches close range.

Comet drops Crude Explosives, ARC Coolant, ARC Thermo Lining, and Comet Igniter. The Comet Igniter is the most important drop and is required for Weather Monitor System progression. It only drops if Comet is killed before it self-detonates.

The most consistent location is Stella Montis, specifically the Loading Bay Floor, where 1 to 3 Comets can spawn. Hurricane conditions in Dam Battlegrounds and Spaceport are also reliable.

Break two of its four turbines to drop it. Focus sustained fire on the turbines first. If tracking them is difficult, break the small V-shaped black plate above the eyes and continue firing at that spot.

Firefly drops ARC Performance Steel, ARC Coolant, ARC Thermo Lining, Simple Gun Parts, and Firefly Burner. Firefly Burner is required for crafting Trailblazer Grenades.

Firefly can spawn in areas with active flying ARC enemies. Open high-altitude zones and areas with frequent Snitch alerts are the most consistent.
