Halfhill Market & Sunsong Ranch Hub

Halfhill Market is the bustling heart of the Valley of the Four Winds, where local farmers and merchants trade fresh produce and rare ingredients. Just north lies Sunsong Ranch—your personal farmstead starting with four soil plots. Here you'll learn to wield the Dented Shovel to till soil, sow seeds from Merchant Greenfield, and harvest crops ripe for market at dawn's light amid grazing critters.

Union Questline & Vote Chains

Your reputation journey begins with Farmer Yoon's Learn and Grow quests at Sunsong Ranch: till fields, plant Scallions, care for young sprouts, and haul your first harvest to Halfhill Market to win Gina Mudclaw's vote. From there, tackle four vote chains—each unlocking more plots and reputation milestones:

• Mung-Mung's Vote (Juicycrunch Carrots): defend against Hozen pests, gather crisp carrots, and foil a carrot caper.
• Farmer Fung's Vote (Green Cabbage): face rampaging yaks, master cabbage conundrums, and secure Fung's support.
• Nana Mudclaw's Vote (Witchberries): venture to sacred springs, brew Nana's secret julep, and harvest moonlit berries.
• Haohan Mudclaw's Vote (Striped Melons): roll explosive kegs down hills, outwit melon thieves, and earn Haohan's approval.

Completing each chain not only boosts your Union standing but also grants upgraded tools and expands your farm from four to sixteen plots by the time you hit Exalted.

Farming Mechanics & Troubleshooting

Each of your plots can develop six potential issues that halt growth:

• Parched: use the Rusty Watering Can until soil turns dark.
• Infested: clear vermin with three quick sprays of the Vintage Bug Sprayer.
• Tangled / Runty: right-click to untangle vines or jump to stretch stunted stems.
• Alluring / Wiggling: fend off birds or bugs with repeated interactions.

Watch the crop buff icon to track growth timers and spot bursting plants for instant harvests. Once you unlock Gina's tool upgrades—"Jinyu Princess" Irrigation, "Thunder King" Pest Repellers, and "Earth-Slasher" Master Plow—you'll water, clear pests, and till multiple plots in seconds.

Friendship & NPC Bonuses

Beyond farming, you'll forge friendships with ten Halfhill NPCs. Turning in Dark Soil treasures (like Blue Feathers or Ruby Shards) yields 540–900 Friendship points, while daily food gifts (Shrimp Dumplings, Charbroiled Tiger Steak) grant 1,800 points. Each friendship tier unlocks special farm perks:

• Old Hillpaw adds chickens and sends a Straw Hat.
• Fish Fellreed introduces pigs and mails a Special Seed Pack.
• Haohan Mudclaw delivers Songbell Seeds and a Mushan pet.
• Gina Mudclaw upgrades your mailbox and gifts fireworks.

Reaching Best Friend with all ten characters earns the Friends on the Farm achievement and populates your ranch with livestock, seeds, and decorative flair.
