WoW Midnight Patch 12.0.7 – New Raid, Zones, Systems and More

Patch 12.0.7 continues Midnight Season One with a content update focused on expanding existing systems rather than introducing a full raid or a new season. Instead, the patch includes a smaller one-boss raid - Sporefall - alongside new locations, a progression system, story content, and updates to existing activities.

New Locations and World Content

One of the main additions in 12.0.7 is a new portal that connects players to Naigtal and Val. These locations are built around Void and Troll narratives and are directly tied to Midnight’s ongoing storyline.

The update also introduces a smaller activity centered around helping hatch Jan’alai’s eggs.

Omnium Folio and Player Progression

The Omnium Folio is the main system introduced in Patch 12.0.7.

Unlike many previous expansion systems, the Omnium Folio does not take up a gear slot. The system itself is built around 5 unlockable nodes, many of which are Choice Nodes. Players choose between different rune effects that provide passive damage, healing, defensive bonuses, or additional stats. These nodes are unlocked gradually and appear to be weekly timegated, as the introductory quest already mentions additional weekly activities tied to the system.

The first node focuses on a Core Rune choice:

• Rune of Void-Touched Orbs periodically creates Void orbs that either damage enemies or heal allies depending on your actions.
• Rune of Unleashed Fire gives spells and abilities a chance to call down fire damage or healing effects.

The second node adds utility and survivability choices:

• Rune of Self-Mending adds self-healing when below 75% health.
• Rune of Void-Tainted Shell grants an absorb shield after taking heavy damage, though part of the absorbed damage is later dealt back over time.
• Rune of Lynxlike Reflexes increases movement speed after being struck in combat.

The third node, Rune of Lingering, enhances your Core Rune by adding a periodic damage or healing effect over time.
The fourth node is focused entirely on secondary stats, allowing players to choose between:

• Critical Strike
• Haste
• Mastery
• Versatility

depending on their preferred build or specialization.

Finally, the last node acts as a major enhancement choice:

• Rune of Overload doubles the effectiveness of the Core Rune.
• Rune of Residual Energy doubles the effectiveness of Rune of Lingering.
• Rune of Echoes repeats part of the damage and healing caused by your runes after a short delay.

Overall, the Omnium Folio appears to function as a customizable passive power system that gradually expands over time

Sporefall Raid and Flex Mythic

Patch 12.0.7 introduces a new raid named Sporefall.

Unlike traditional raids with multiple bosses, Sporefall is designed as a shorter, more focused experience with only a single boss - Rotmire.

Blizzard also recently updated how loot from Sporefall works on PTR. Originally, Sporefall gear was listed as Warbound Equipped, but this has now been changed. Loot now drops as regular Bind-on-Pickup raid gear and comes with the new “Sporefused” tag, dropping at extremely high item levels depending on difficulty.

Current item levels are:

• Mythic: 298
• Heroic: 285
• Normal: 272
• LFR: 259

Mythic Sporefall loot is especially notable because item level 298 gear is equivalent to weapons and trinkets upgraded with Ascendant Voidcores, placing it above standard Mythic 6/6 raid gear.

One of the key features is Flex Mythic difficulty, which supports groups of 15 to 25 players. This differs from the usual fixed-size Mythic format and is intended to make high-level content more accessible by reducing strict roster requirements.

Story, Lorewalking and Timeways

Patch 12.0.7 expands narrative content with a new Lorewalking experience focused on the history of the Trolls. This feature allows players to revisit important events in a structured format, adding more context to the current storyline.The patch also continues the Zul’jan storyline, further developing the Troll-focused narrative.

At the same time, Turbulent Timeways event returns once again - with the new mount and six Dragonflight dungeons now added in rotation:
