Tempest is one of ARC Raider' most reliable assault rifles for both PvP and clearing ARC enemies. Finding its blueprint, however, can feel like searching for a needle in a haystack. With one of the lowest spawn rates among epic weapon recipes, players regularly run 50+ raids before finally seeing one drop.
This guide breaks down exactly where to find Tempest Blueprint, which containers to prioritize, and how to structure your farming runs for the best results.

Blueprint Сhance Modifiers
Before diving into locations, understanding how blueprint drops work saves hours of wasted runs.
Tempest Blueprint is part of the global scavenging loot pool, meaning it can technically appear in any blueprint-capable container on any map. However, several factors dramatically affect your odds:
Night Raid: The single biggest factor for Tempest farming. Night Raids boost overall loot quality by roughly 150%, which directly increases rare blueprint spawn chances. Community testing consistently shows Night Raids outperform daytime runs for weapon blueprints. Some players report finding Tempest exclusively during Night Raids, and while the blueprint isn't technically locked to this condition, your practical chances are significantly better at night.

Electromagnetic Storm: When available, storms provide even stronger loot bonuses than Night Raids. Blueprint drops spike noticeably during storm conditions. If you see Electromagnetic Storm active on Dam Battlegrounds or another map, prioritize it over Buried City Night Raid.
Container type: Not every lootable object can drop blueprints. High-tier containers include weapon cases, raider caches, medical duffel bags, breach lockers, and black raider containers players call "blueprint boxes." Standard shelves and floor spawns rarely produce blueprints.

High-value zones: Areas marked as high-value loot regions have better container rolls overall. Breach rooms behind locked doors are treated as high-tier zones regardless of their map marker.

Update 1.2.0 adjustment: The North Line patch specifically increased drop rates for extremely rare blueprints including Tempest. Farming became noticeably easier after this change, though Tempest remains among the rarer drops.

Best Locations for Tempest Blueprint Farming
Buried City Night Raid (Primary)
Buried City offers the highest concentration of recommended spawn points for Tempest farming. When Night Raid is active on this map, it becomes the go-to destination.
- Grandioso Apartments – Most frequently cited Tempest location in community discussions. This apartment complex sits in West Village and consists of two similar buildings connected by a temporary bridge. Every floor contains blueprint-capable containers: drawers, cabinets, lockers, fridges, coolers, and breach lockers.
Farming method is straightforward. Start from ground floor of one building, clear every container, cross the bridge, and clear the second building top to bottom. Players have pulled Tempest Blueprints from seemingly mundane containers here, including trash cans and white cooler boxes. The blueprint isn't tied to any special chest; it's just another roll inside the high-tier loot table.

Some players confirmed a spawn point in a breachable room on the second floor of a building just west of Santa Maria Houses. Spawn isn't guaranteed every run, but multiple reports place Tempest specifically at this location. Expect competition since other farmers know about it.
- Plaza Rosa Pharmacy – Three-story building near extraction point with breachable access. Focus on white lockers and containers inside rather than shelves. High traffic area but rewarding when you get there first.
- Red Tower – High-priority loot location with multiple floors of containers. The building attracts attention because of its vertical layout and weapon case spawns on upper levels. Security Breach lockers require 36 points in Survival skill tree but offer excellent blueprint odds if you've invested there.
- Space Travel Building – Another high-value zone worth checking when rotating through Buried City. Less contested than Grandioso on average.
- Santa Maria Houses – Residential area itself spawns blueprint-capable containers, though player traffic tends to be higher here than in some alternatives.
Dam Battlegrounds (Alternative)
When Buried City Night Raid isn't available or you've exhausted that route, Dam Battlegrounds provides solid alternatives.

Pale Apartments and Ruby Residences – Residential clusters in the northwest corner work especially well during Electromagnetic Storm. Full clears of these buildings regularly produce blueprints, including Tempest. Container density matches Grandioso's, and during storms, boosted drop rates make this area extremely productive.
Control Tower and Power Generation Complex – Marked as mid-tier loot zones but contain unusually high container counts. Security Lockers spawn here as well.
Other Maps
- Spaceport – Control Tower and Arrival/Departure Buildings contain weapon case spawns. Some players report Tempest drops here during Night Raid.
- Blue Gate – Pilgrim's Peak and refugee site areas occasionally produce rare blueprints. Surveyor spawns on this map also have decent blueprint drop chances.
- Stella Montis – Newest map received specific blueprint spawn buffs in Cold Snap update. Medical Research and Assembly Workshop areas are worth exploring, though Tempest farming data from this map is still limited.
Farming Strategy
Pre-Raid Setup
Go in lightweight or naked. Entering without equipment automatically gives you a safe pocket, which protects your extracted blueprint if you die. Bringing a full loadout for Tempest farming is usually counterproductive. You want fast runs with Safe Pockets, not extended combat sessions.
If you do bring gear, keep it cheap. A basic pistol for emergency situations, minimal healing, and nothing you'd mind losing. The goal is volume, not value per raid.

In-Raid Execution
Check your spawn point immediately. If you're close to Grandioso Apartments or another priority location, head there first. Speed matters because containers get looted fast in Night Raids.
Loot systematically. Open every blueprint-capable container in your target area. Drawers, cabinets, lockers, breach boxes, weapon cases, and raider caches. Skip loose items on shelves unless you need them to survive.
Two locations per run is usually the practical limit. By the time you've cleared Grandioso and one other spot, most remaining containers are already looted by other players.
Extract or surrender. Once you've hit your target locations, get out. If you found nothing, surrendering to queue the next match is faster than running across the map to extract. Night Raids last about 60 minutes, so maximizing attempts within that window matters.
Container Priority

Focus your attention on these container types:
- Weapon cases (highest confirmed blueprint odds)
- Raider caches / black containers
- Breach lockers and breach room containers
- Medical duffel bags
- Drawers and cabinets in high-value zones
- Security lockers (requires Survival tree investment)
Skip basic shelves, floor spawns, and decorative containers. They rarely roll blueprints and waste time.
Crafting Tempest
Once you've extracted with the blueprint, learn it immediately. From your inventory, right-click Tempest Blueprint and select "Learn and Consume." This permanently unlocks the recipe at your Workshop.

Workshop requirement: Gunsmith Level 3
If you've been running Stella Montis for Expedition Project materials, you likely have some of these components already. Magnetic Accelerators are the bottleneck for most players since they're also needed for Expedition Stage 4.

Upgrades
Tempest can be upgraded through Level IV at Gunsmith 1, with each tier adding:
- Reduced horizontal recoil (up to 50%)
- Faster reload time (up to 40%)
- Increased durability (up to +30)
Upgrade materials require Advanced Mechanical Components and additional Medium Gun Parts. Stat improvements are significant enough that most players push to at least Tempest II before running it consistently.

Best Tempest Attachments
Tempest has three attachment slots: Muzzle, Underbarrel, and Medium-Mag. The weapon's main weakness is recoil – it climbs walls when you hold down the trigger. Attachment choices should address this.

Muzzle Brake II is the priority pick. It reduces both vertical and horizontal recoil, making sustained fire actually controllable. If you have the blueprint, Muzzle Brake III offers even better stats but comes with 20% increased durability burn. For daily use, Tier II hits the sweet spot between performance and maintenance costs.
Angled Grip II/III complements the muzzle brake by further reducing horizontal drift. Note that Tempest already gains horizontal recoil reduction through upgrades, so this slot becomes less critical at Tempest III and IV. Vertical Grip is an alternative if you prefer fighting recoil on the Y-axis, but it slows ADS speed significantly – not ideal for PvP.
Extended Medium Mag III adds 15 rounds to your base 25. This matters more than it sounds. Tempest chews through ammo fast, and reloading during a firefight gets you killed. No downside to this attachment.
For PvE boss hunting, some players swap to Vertical Grip III specifically for sustained fire at range against targets like Tyrants. The 30% ADS penalty hurts in close quarters but doesn't matter when you're dumping magazines into a weak point from 50 meters.

Tempest Builds for Endgame
Tempest works as a mid-range controller in most loadouts. It pressures enemies at medium distance, clears ARC adds efficiently, and provides consistent DPS without requiring precise aim. Common pairings include:
- Tempest + Volcano – AR controls the lane, shotgun ends pushes
- Tempest + Stitcher – Tempest for medium range, Stitcher for close-range burst
- Tempest + Osprey – All-range coverage with sniper anchor
The weapon fits both PvP-focused and PvE-focused builds. For ARC hunting specifically, Bettina technically has better armor penetration, but Tempest's fire rate makes it more forgiving when tracking weak points on mobile targets.

FAQ
Tempest is an epic-rarity fully automatic assault rifle that uses Medium Ammo. Base stats include 10 damage, 25-round magazine, moderate ARC armor penetration, and solid stability. It sits in a comfortable middle ground between accuracy and fire rate, making it effective at mid-range engagements where most Arc Raiders fights happen. The weapon requires Tempest Blueprint and Gunsmith Level 3 to craft.
Night Raids significantly increase drop chances, but the blueprint isn't technically exclusive to this condition. Daytime runs can produce it, just at much lower rates. For practical farming, Night Raids are strongly recommended.
Surveyors can drop various blueprints when destroyed. They spawn more commonly on Spaceport and Blue Gate. While not a primary farming method for Tempest specifically, killing Surveyors when you encounter them adds to your overall blueprint attempts.
Buried City during Night Raid remains community consensus. Grandioso Apartments specifically gets mentioned most frequently in successful drop reports. Dam Battlegrounds during Electromagnetic Storm is a strong alternative.
Yes. Unlearned blueprints can be dropped in raid for other players to pick up. This works through ground drops in shared instances. Some players swap duplicate blueprints this way. The same way you can buy Tempest Blueprint from LevelUpper.
For players who want a reliable mid-range assault rifle that works in both PvP and PvE, yes. The weapon performs consistently without requiring specific builds or exotic attachments. Once unlocked, you can craft copies whenever needed.
Multiple blueprints can appear in a single raid. Players report extracting with 2-4 blueprints during Night Raids or Electromagnetic Storms when looting efficiently. Most won't be Tempest, but volume farming works in your favor.
Muzzle Brake II is essential for recoil control. Extended Medium Mag III adds 15 rounds with no downside. Angled Grip helps with horizontal drift but becomes less necessary at higher upgrade tiers since Tempest gains built-in horizontal recoil reduction.
Expect 8-15 runs minimum using optimal routes. Some players get lucky within a few attempts; others grind for dozens. Running Night Raid specifically and focusing on Grandioso Apartments gives best odds per hour.
