Arknights: Endfield Laevatain Character Build & Analysis

Laevatain is a 6★ Striker in Arknights Endfield built around sustained Heat pressure, Melting Flame stack management, and one of the strongest “press Ultimate and delete the wave” play patterns available at launch. Her kit is simple to read, but the pacing is strict: most of her real damage lives inside Twilight, and everything outside that window is setup.

If you are comparing Laevatain to other operators or trying to understand where she stands in the broader meta, this article is written to slot directly into our Arknights Endfield Tier List, where all characters are evaluated under the same conditions and assumptions.

Analysis & Verdict

Laevatain is a character with two modes: “Twilight is running” and “Twilight is not running.” The difference is not subtle. During Twilight, her enhanced basics plus Sviga Lævi turn her into a sustained AoE blender that can carry waves by itself. Outside Twilight, she is mostly building the right conditions to earn the next Twilight — Melting Flame stacks, Ultimate Energy, and a usable target to hit while the setup happens.

Smouldering Fire is the key lever. It creates continuous pressure through Magma Fragment hits, and those hits build Melting Flame. Once you hit 4 stacks, the same button turns into a different button: it consumes the stacks, does an additional Heat attack, and forcibly triggers Combustion in a wide area. That extra attack also restores extra Ultimate Energy on hit, so the “4-stack cast” is not just damage — it’s your primary refill tool.

Seethe is the bridge skill. It only triggers on enemies that already have Combustion or Corrosion, and when it lands it gives another Melting Flame stack plus Ultimate Energy per enemy hit. In clean teams, that means supports feed Laevatain the right statuses, she presses Seethe on the marked targets, and the cycle stays smooth. If the team can’t keep Combustion/Corrosion present, Seethe becomes dead weight and the rotation slows down.

The main friction is what happens when fights end at the wrong time. Twilight can overkill a wave, leaving you with Melting Flame stacks and no targets to hit for Ultimate Energy, which means the next pull starts “cold.” That’s not a skill issue — it’s pacing. The character wants enemies to exist long enough to fuel the next window.

Verdict: Laevatain is one of the best AoE clearers at launch because her Ultimate is a complete damage engine. The cost is that you have to respect her cycle. If you keep her fed with stacks and targets, she feels unstoppable. If fights keep ending mid-setup, she feels clunky until the next Twilight finally comes online.

Don’t Want to Level and Promote Laevatain Yourself?

Laevatain scales hard with Promotions and Potentials, especially for Ultimate uptime, Combustion strength, and smoother recharge thresholds. Building her alongside multiple operators can slow down overall progression.
