ARC Raiders Hatch Repairs Walkthrough

Hatch Repairs is an early progression quest in ARC Raiders that introduces Raider Hatches and the Raider Hatch Key mechanic. The quest is short, low-risk, and designed to teach how alternative extraction points work without forcing you to use them immediately.

How to Start Hatch Repairs

Hatch Repairs is given by Shani during early progression, shortly after you complete A Bad Feeling quest from Celeste. It appears naturally as part of Shani’s early quest chain and does not require any specific items to accept.

You pick up the quest directly from Shani at the hub.

ARC Raiders Hatch Repairs Quest

Once accepted, the objective can be completed on any map that contains a Raider Hatch. You do not need to extract for progress to count.

Quest Objective

Hatch Repairs has two simple objectives, both tied to the same Raider Hatch point of interest:

  1. Repair a leaking hydraulic pipe near a Raider Hatch

  2. Search for a Raider Hatch Key near that hatch

Once both steps are completed, the quest is finished immediately. Extraction is optional.

Step 1: Repair the Leaking Hydraulic Pipe

Load into any map that contains a Raider Hatch. Hatch Repairs can be completed on every major map, and you are free to choose whichever layout you’re most comfortable navigating.

If you’re unsure where Raider Hatches are located on each map, use our Raider Hatch Key guide, which lists all hatch extraction points across Stella Montis, Dam Battlegrounds, Spaceport, Buried City, and Blue Gate. You only need to reach one hatch to complete the quest.

What to look for

Near every Raider Hatch, there is a damaged hydraulic pipe that can be repaired while the quest is active.

The pipe is visually distinct and placed directly next to the hatch structure. When you approach it with the quest active, it will be interactable.

Important notes

  • Any Raider Hatch works

  • You do not need a Raider Hatch Key for this step

  • Dying after repairing the pipe does not reset progress

Once repaired, the quest updates automatically.

Step 2: Find the Raider Hatch Key

After repairing the pipe, a quest container spawns near the same hatch.

How it works

  • The container appears very close to the hatch — usually within the same small area

  • It highlights when you look at it while the quest is active

  • The container is very small, so look closely

  • Opening it grants a Raider Hatch Key

You do not need to survive or extract after looting the key. As soon as the key is collected, the quest completes.

f you want to speed up early progression — including any quests, utility unlocks, and material acquisition — LevelUpper’s ARC Raiders Boosting Hub supports progression entirely through normal in-raid gameplay and extraction. This can help smooth out early quest chains without repeating low-value runs.

Using the Hatch After Completion

After finishing Hatch Repairs, you can choose to:

  • Use the Raider Hatch Key immediately to extract

  • Keep the key for a later run

The quest does not require you to activate the hatch. This is deliberate — it lets you decide when extraction is actually worth it.

Quest Rewards

Completing Hatch Repairs grants:

  • Raider Hatch Key

  • Binoculars

More importantly, it unlocks the Raider Hatch system as part of your regular gameplay loop.

Final Notes

Hatch Repairs is a tutorial-style quest that introduces one of the most important utility mechanics in ARC Raiders.

There’s no combat requirement, no extraction pressure, and no penalty for dying. The goal is simply to show how Raider Hatches work and give you your first key safely.

If you’re chaining Shani’s quests or building out your utility options early, this is a quest you should complete as soon as it becomes available.

FAQ

Dying does not fail the Hatch Repairs quest once you’ve completed its objectives. After repairing the leaking hydraulic pipe and looting the Raider Hatch Key from the highlighted container, the quest progress is saved immediately. You do not need to extract for completion to count.

However, if you die before looting the key container, you’ll need to repeat the objective in another raid. The quest itself remains active until both steps are completed.

Hatch Repairs does not require you to use the Raider Hatch Key.

The quest rewards you with the key and teaches you how hatches work, but extraction via a hatch is optional. In most cases, it’s better to keep the key and save it for a later run when you’re carrying valuable loot.

Using the key immediately is only worth it if you’re already loaded and want a guaranteed exit.

Hatch Repairs can be completed on any map. The leaking pipe and the key container will spawn near the hatch you approach while the quest is active.
