Pit Fighters War Chest is Highguard's Episode One cosmetic progression system. Think battle pass without the FOMO - War Chests in this game never expire, similar to Helldivers 2 warbonds.

You earn Vigil Tokens by playing matches and completing objectives like winning raids, destroying generators, capturing control points, or securing Shieldbreaker artifacts. Each match adds to your token pool (capped at 3000 at once), and you spend those tokens to unlock specific rewards from four pages of cosmetics.

The structure is non-linear. Unlike traditional battle passes that force sequential unlocks, Pit Fighters lets you pick your rewards within each page. Page one contains mostly common and uncommon cosmetics - Warden skins, weapon wraps, emotes.

Page two ramps up with epic-tier rewards and the first legendary skin. Page three adds more legendary weapon cosmetics. Page four is the endgame: Ursus Maximus legendary bear mount skin and Hear Us Roar legendary mount emote.

War Chest Structure and Unlock Costs

Pages unlock sequentially but rewards within each page are your choice. First three pages hold the bulk of cosmetics and cost 3400 Vigil Tokens combined to fully clear. Page four only contains two legendary items (the bear mount skin and mount emote) for 1000 tokens. But you can't access page four until you've unlocked it by spending 1500 tokens on page three, same as the previous unlock requirements.

Total completion needs 11200 Vigil Tokens. That's 1500 to unlock page two, 1500 for page three, 1500 for page four, plus the cost of every individual item across all pages.

Most players won't grind this naturally before the next episode drops. Matches award tokens based on performance and objectives completed, not just participation time. Good games with multiple kills, successful raids, and objective completions grant more tokens than losses where your crew gets wiped early.

Farming Vigil Tokens without boost means hundreds of matches. The 3000 token cap forces you to spend regularly - you can't just bank everything and unlock the entire War Chest at once.
