The Dark Below - Launch Quest Line

The Dark Below is Highguard's launch quest line, tied to the lore of an ancient civilization called "The Delvers." An anonymous client within The Iron Vigil wants these artifacts recovered from sites scattered across the continent, and completing each quest earns you a piece of the Delver collection.

Quest Objectives and Rewards

The quest line contains 6 challenges, each with specific in-match objectives:

• Fortify the Perimeter requires reinforcing 10 walls in a single match.

During the Reinforce phase at match start, you pick which walls to strengthen before the enemy team can breach them. Hit 10 in one game and you unlock the Brightforge banner - a rare cosmetic featuring Delver iconography.

• Leave Nothing Standing flips the script: destroy 25 walls in a single match.

This one rewards aggression. Whether you're breaching enemy reinforcements or clearing sightlines, rack up 25 destructions and you earn the Anvilbiter charm.

• Bring Down the Hammer takes wall destruction further - 100 walls destroyed using a Purple Blast ability.

This isn't a single-match objective, so it accumulates over time. The grind here is real, but the weapon skin reward makes it worthwhile.

• Thinning the Herd demands 25 kills in a single match.

In a 3v3 format where respawns happen and matches can run long, 25 kills is achievable but requires consistent performance throughout. Miss a few engagements and you won't hit the threshold.

• Release the Kraken narrows the requirements: 5 kills with a Double Shotgun in a single match.

You need to equip the Kraken (the Double Shotgun weapon class) and land 5 eliminations. This rewards the Black Crag skin - a rare Kraken variant with Delver aesthetics.

• Wear the Crown is the longest grind: win 20 games total.

No single-match tricks here. You need 20 victories, which means coordinated play and time investment. Completing this unlocks the Delver's Might charm - a rare helmet-style cosmetic.

The Greedbreaker and Warden of Highguard Title

Complete all 6 quests and you unlock the quest line's ultimate rewards: the Greedbreaker legendary axe skin and the Warden of Highguard title.

The Greedbreaker has its own lore entry tied to "The Tale of Auric Bloodbeard." According to the flavor text, Auric and his fighters returned from battle to receive axes forged from singing stone and silver by mountain lords. Each warrior named their weapon. Auric chose "Greedbreaker" to honor those who died fighting for another's wealth - and to remind himself never to make that mistake again.

It's a legendary-tier cosmetic, meaning it's the highest rarity available for axe skins at launch. The Warden of Highguard title displays alongside your name, showing other players you completed the full quest line.
